Charities at Chandlings

Part of our whole school ethos is concern for others who are less fortunate than ourselves, whether it be in the United Kingdom or abroad.

Throughout the year we organise a variety of fund raising events from cake sales to Mad Hat Day! Every year during the second half of the summer term, the children buy ice creams on Fridays and the money raised supports a little Tibetan boy in a boarding school in India.

Each term some Year 6 children are chosen to be Charity Monitors and their contribution is invaluable in producing posters and raising awareness amongst their peers and helping at events.

We are always amazed by the generosity and support of the parents and children at Chandlings.

Charity News

DebRA was delighted to receive the wonderful sum of £410 which was raised when we held our annual Mad Hat Day at Chandlings. DebRA has achieved a great many things since it was established in 1978, but one thing hasn't changed at all. Their work depends upon voluntary donations and any donation has a significant impact on what they are able to achieve. DebRA's goals and priorities are to enable people living with Epidermolusis Bullosa to help themselves and each other to maintain the best possible quality of life and also to provide the highest standard of care to all the families affected. Most importantly, DebRA helps to develop safe and effective treatments and ultimately, a cure for this devastating condition.

Thank you to all of the Chandlings children who helped to raise such a generous donation to this worthwhile cause.
