Drama
Drama is incorporated into the curriculum throughout our Pre-Prep Department. In the Prep Department children have at least one lesson of drama a week from a specialist drama teacher, and this provides something different from the academic examinable subjects.
The aim is to stimulate and encourage the imagination through improvisation mostly in group work, at the same time developing communicating and social skills and building self-confidence.

The importance of clear speech is addressed and each child is encouraged to reach their full creative potential. Children of all abilities can and do shine in this area. There are many opportunities for performance and all pupils are encouraged to take part. There is also a close link with music and dance.
During their final year the pupils perform in a major production, generally a musical show where they will learn to appreciate and understand the working of theatre involving make-up, lighting, costumes, scenery and sound.
