Directions
Chandlings is located between Boars Hill and Abingdon on the A4183 which runs parallel to the A34.
From London:
Follow the M40 taking the A40 turning to Oxford. At the Headington roundabout take the Oxford ring road in a clockwise direction signposted Newbury. Continue over several roundabouts (past the BMW works on your left). Continue following the signs for Newbury. At the Kennington roundabout, DO NOT turn on to the A34 Newbury but cross over the top of the A34 and take the next exit signposted Wootton/Boars Hill. This is the A4183. At the top of the hill continue past the Boars Hill turning to your right. Chandlings is located approximately 1 mile further on the right hand side shortly after the ‘school’ sign and just past a left turning signed Kennington.
From the A34 South:
Exit the A34 at Kennington interchange signed Oxford ring road and take the first exit signposted Wootton/Boars Hill/Abingdon. Follow the directions as above.
From A34 North:
Exit the A34 at the Kennington interchange and take the last exit signposted Wootton/Boars Hill/Abingdon. Follow the directions as above.
From A4074 Henley/Wallingford:
At Heyford Hill roundabout follow the signs for Newbury (A34). At Kennington roundabout take the exit for Wootton and follow the directions above as if coming from the A40 from London.
From Abingdon centre:
From the one-way system, take the A4183 signposted Oxford/Radley. Continue up the Oxford Road (passing The Boundary House public house on your right) to the large roundabout, approximately 1 mile. Straight over the roundabout signposted Oxford/Sunningwell. Continue for approximately for 1.5 miles. Chandlings is set back on the left immediately after the ‘school’ sign.
From A420 Faringdon:
Take the A420 towards Oxford. Turn right opposite the Greyhound public house (B4017) signed Wootton/Abingdon. Follow the road into Wootton and turn right at the T junction signposted Abingdon. Turn left immediately before the Harley Davidson garage (Boars Hill). Continue to junction, approximately 2 miles, and turn right on to the A4183 signposted Abingdon. Chandlings is approximately 1 mile further on the right hand side after the ‘school’ sign and just past a turning on the left to Kennington.
From A338 Wantage:
Take the A338 towards Oxford. Turn right by Frilford Heath Golf Club signposted Cothill. Take the first turning left (after approximately 1.5 miles) and continue until the T junction opposite the Harley Davidson garage. Turn left and immediately right and then follow directions as from Faringdon.
When you reach the school, please proceed along the length of the drive into the main car park and leave your car. Walk a little way back down the drive and enter the school through the front door main entrance.
